OBJECTIVES

• To grow the sport of Pétanque in America and raise the awareness of the American public to the sport, and to stimulate creation of new FPUSA clubs, individuals and independent members.
• To introduce pétanque to public and private educational institutions throughout the nation.
• To promote competition and championships at all levels; Regional, State, National and International. For all men and women; young, juniors, and senior citizens.
• To encourage community groups, the U.S Park Service and the Park and Recreation Departments of cities to develop pétanque courts in their parks.
• To publicize pétanque in sport magazines, radio and television, local newspapers and special videos.

AS AN FPUSA MEMBER CLUB YOU CAN BENEFIT BY:

• Enjoying National and international contacts.
• The opportunity for club members to participate in many national and international championships. Every year the FPUSA sends several pétanque teams to The World Championships Senior, Men and Women.
• Having your members be able to enter official tournaments.
• The opportunity for the junior members to learn from excellent players and participate also in many types of championships.
• Being in communication through FPUSA's newsletter

Federation member clubs, their officers and all FPUSA members, including independents, have liability insurance coverage provided as part of their memberships.

If the owner of your Petanque facility requires, by contract, that your club extend this insurance coverage to them, arrangements can be made by contacting the fpusa secretary as listed on our organization page..

AS AN FPUSA MEMBER:

• You are also a member of the International Federation.
• You benefit from the general liability insurance.
• Your membership card, with your picture properly stamped with the FPUSA stamp, is recognized by all the national and international clubs of pétanque.
• You can participate in many competitions when you travel overseas. So long as the championship is "open". All foreign clubs will let you play upon presenting your FPUSA card.
• You will get the schedules of pétanque tournaments and the latest news through the FPUSA newsletter.
• You can join the FPUSA board of directors and help in the organization and promotion the game of pétanque in the USA.
• While participating in tournaments and championships outside your city, you will meet people from all over the world and all walks of life. Your Pétanque club will have many competitions, social events, and other activities you can enjoy with your family.
• If you are a veteran player, your experience can help educate our junior members in their high schools and junior high schools, maybe both in English and French. Many learning aids are available from the Federation.
